The Marquis of Granby consists of a main front bar area, a rear bar and a separate seating area to the right. Plasma screens are found throughout and live sport is advertised. Due to no live sport being on Sky Sports or ESPN during a recent Thursday lunchtime visit MTV was airing instead. In the rear bar was some seating, a pool table and a dartboard. Access to both the rear bar and separate seating area is up a couple of steps. To the right of the pub is a decked seating area that separates the pub from the car park.

The bar was stocked with standard draught and one of the two hand pumps was unused leaving Doom Bar as the lone cask ale option. Cocktail pitchers are advertised and deals on bulk purchases, such as four bottles of Sol for £8, are available. The kitchen is open daily from midday until 21:00. I didn’t look at the menu, but I would expect pub grub at reasonable prices.

The service was friendly, but my wife and I were the only customers so there was no atmosphere. When a small child that was related to the staff was plonked in front of an iPad showing Peppa Pig we decided not to order a second pint.
