This gorgeous little pub has recently been taken over by a young(ish) passionate (about the business) couple who have re-established a great food offer. Set in beautiful North End, Great Dunmow this great destination venue is about to rise from the ashes. Lovely/safe garden and play area makes this pub the perfect drive out to the country.

After being recommended ,i have to say a little disapointing ,its an old pub so you can accept the decor etc,but seats in the restaurant looked grubby and the toilets although not unclean pretty shoddy broken tiles and old worn loo seat .Also cold in the pub no heating on ,although a spring day .
The food was served very quickly ,but carrots and boiled potato,s were cold the chicken was on a leg and some meat on the bone ,and the meal was swimming in gravy.Friendly staff is a bonus but I cant say i,ll be rushing back there .

The Butchers Arms is an absolute delight to visit, from it's traditional pub decor and real ales to the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere that greeted us as we walked through the door. I didn't think it could get any better until the food arrived, the cheese soup starter was particularly outstanding. Upon requesting the recipe from the chef, he came straight out to our table and was happy to take the time to not only talk to us about the fantastic menu, but also to tell us about some of the history of the place. As one of our party also had special dietary requirements, he also adapted the dishes to cater accordingly. It is not service that you receive very often nowadays. The Butchers Arms is highly recommended.
