A former 'spoons in a modest shop frontage,all a bit cramped at the front with the bar to the left but down a few steps is a vast rear area,badly lit and gloomy.All the real ale has gone,leaving just standard multinational keg crap but the pub was busy ,mainly I suspect because there are so few pubs left in this ethnically diverse area around the tube station.
It was all a bit chaotic behind the bar ,but I waited patiently to be served.A very well oiled regular then rocked up to the bar and demanded service from an asian man who was adjusting the electrical system to lager fonts.He got aggitated when the man explained he wasn't part of the bar staff,more so when he was asked by the overworked barmaid to apologise,which he did but then got served ahead of me. He was swaying and still aggitated ,so I decided that a pint of keg crap was not worth the risk of this punter doing something stupid ,probably all over my shoes so I left.Awful pub ,awful service and only gets 2 points because it is open and there is no where else in the area.Dont bother.

A fairly small Wetherspoon's with a upper front bar with a lower drinking area at the rear. Fair selection of real ales at a decent price.

This is another high street ‘spoons conversion, but the layout of this one is better than most I’ve been in. The panelling seems of reasonable quality and the layout is quite interesting, being fairly narrow with a well area at the back, leading out to a small garden as a smoking area.
All the usual features are present though. The walls have the usual photos relevant to the area, including one of the world-famous Dagenham Girl Pipers, and this one’s clientele was typical when I visited on Wednesday afternoon, with more that its fair share of all day drinkers. The furnishing’s the usual ‘spoons mix of tall tables/tall stools and normal tables and chairs, and the standard food menu is available. I didn’t count the guest ales, but there were at least six available, with the cheapest at £2.15 a pint.

Not many of us go well out of our way to visit a ‘spoons, but in an area sparsely populated with pubs it’s a good job this one’s here.
