This pub is four miles from me and I did not know it existed until recently when I found it on this site. It is in the middle of a housing estate, and I visited it late on a Tuesday afternoon. There was the landlady and one customer. She was friendly and welcoming and sold me a pint of Greene King IPA in good condition for the bargain price of £2.65. Courage Best and John Smiths were also available. As you can see from the photos it is unspoilt and looks like pub used to. There is a small Public Bar to the right at the back, and the main area of the pub is the Saloon Bar with an additional eating area at the back to the left of the carvery. Sunday lunches are the only food offered. The landlady told me that they are moving on after seventeen years running the pub, and the new people are planning to festoon it with flat screen televisions. Pay it a visit before then.
