Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Robin Hood

Food-led pub on the main A259, with an unusual arcaded passageway along the frontage. The main bar is located to the right of the central entrance, with a smaller pool room (with its own compact counter) to the left; both parts very traditional. Substantial rear restaurant in a conservatory-style extension. I found four of the six handpumps in use, with IPA and the Coronation Golden Ale from Greene King, a rather last-legs Coronation Session from Wantsum (perhaps unsurprisingly, given that it had been reduced to £2.50) and the Black Arrow Porter from nearby Battle. 12 local ciders also advertised.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Robin Hood

With the current government restrictions on drinking and dining, this proved to be our last pub of the day in East Sussex. Almost everywhere we were trying to visit was closing due to the dropping temperatures, frequent hail showers and with darkness falling. This was certainly the only one of the two pubs in Icklesham to be open.

We immediately received a warm welcome and were escorted to a covered patio area at the rear of the pub, with a warning that they were no longer serving food.

Greene King IPA is the regular ale here. A second real ale was Ruddles Best. What the ale range lacked was more than made up for by the cider range. The full list was Wise Owl Dry, Medium & Screecher, Biddenden Bushells, Red Love & Medium, Dudda's Tun Elderflower Cider, Apricot Cider, Salted Caramel Cider & Blackcurrant Cider & Turner's Apple Pie, Medium & Elderflower Cider. It seems they often also have SeaCider too.

It turned out that the owner's daughter is the brains behind the cider selection. She is a keen fan of cider and is trying to turn the pub into a destination for local cider drinkers.

With very friendly staff and an excellent cider selection, I would recommend the Robin Hood for all lovers of the apple, pears and other fruit!

The Robin Hood is a 17th century roadside pub on the A259 in the small East Sussex village of Icklesham. To the right of the pub is a large car park and behind the pub is a large grass covered beer garden full of picnic tables and a children’s climbing frame. The entrance to the pub is found down some steps that lead down to a covered frontage. Inside, the serving counter of the thin bar area faces the entrance. To the left is a separate seating area with pool table and television that was switched off with no signs of live sport being advertised. To the right of the bar is more seating and a fish tank. The walls and ceiling are adorned with copper and brass objects as well as a collection of jugs, trophies and etched mirrors. Hops run across the wooden beams, as they do in any self-respecting Sussex country pub. At the rear is a conservatory that is reserved for diners only, so I did not visit. Dogs are also not permitted in this area but are more than welcome in the bar.
I counted ten hand pumps, three of which were unused. The seven in operation were drawing, Wantsum Montgomery, Greene King IPA, Brains S.A., Tonbridge Traditional and Golden Rule alongside Westons Old Rosie and Family Reserve real ciders. Four more real ciders were available from Kent based Dudda’s Tun. The kitchen was closed during my recent Saturday afternoon visit, but I noted that the traditional pub mains on the specials board started at £11.
This pub has normal opening hours but is closed between 15:00 and 18:00 Monday through Thursday. Current kitchen opening hours are Mon 12:00 - 14:00, 18:00 - 21:00; Tues 12:00 - 14:00; Wed & Thurs 12:00 - 14:00, 18:00 - 21:00; Fri 12:00 - 14:30, 18:00 - 21:00; Sat 12:00 - 15:00, 18:00 - 21:00; Sun 12:00 - 21:00.
This is a decent pub well worthy of a stop off. The people of Icklesham are very lucky to have two great pubs on their doorstep.
