Been through this pub a few times over the years and in my view the only thing that has improved is the good looking bar maid. Beer is standard and people are rude. Definatley not a place to enjoy a quiet drink with locals.
On a plus side it now has a new park opposite it and is great for kids. Would be better though if the pub was cleaner and better managed.
Overall, avoid. Better pubs a short walk.

The Wishing Tree is located opposite the Greater Hollington playground and is accessible by foot from Church Wood Drive, but the car park is located down Wishing Tree Road North. There is lots of decking out the front that has plenty of seating and there is also a smoking area. The interior of the pub is L shaped and when I visited late on Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago there was a large dining table with ten or so seats set up in the right hand side of the pub. The left hand side houses a pool table, dartboard and a jukebox that was playing softly in the background. I counted four plasma screens, two of which were showing cricket on Sky, and there is a fruit machine. The bar is stocked with standard draught products from which I was served a decent pint of Guinness by the friendly barmaid. There are also three hand pumps, but two of these were off leaving Pride as the only ale option.
This pub is probably not worth a special trip, but as a local it does the job.
