All signs of this pub have gone following demolition and there is now a large block of retirement homes on the site.

As far as I know the Beachcomber is the only pub next to the Beach with views of the sea in the whole of Seaford. I would have thought that it would be the perfect place to nurture a pub to be the best that it can whilst making a pretty penny, but alas I think that the management of this pub are just relying on the location and probably get through the year with the money they make in the summer from unsuspecting tourists drawn to the ideal location. The maroon upholstery is ripped and stuck back together with black gaffer tape, the rap music playing to the few loyal locals a the bar was far too loud for a Monday afternoon, four of the six hand pumps are unused and Courage Best was been drawn through the other two and the Guinness tasted like cooking wine. There is a pool table, but the dartboard looked like it was last changed when Eric Bristow won his first News of the World. There is a large plasma screen, but I didn’t spot any signs for Sky Sports – although I would be surprised if they did not show the football.
There is a tarmac car park outside the front and the edge of the pub is lined with picnic tables. There is also a restaurant area that was closed when I visited on Monday afternoon.
This pub is undoubtedly in the best location in Seaford, but alas it is a strong contender for worst pub – I’ll not be returning in any hurry.
