The Moorings is located adjacent to the pebble beach in Pevensey Bay so it is in a prime location overlooking the sea. The pub has been extended with conservatories to the left hand side and beachside to maximise views of the location. To the right of the pub is an area that houses a plasma screen (No Sky Sports advertisements seen), pool table and dartboard with American diner type prints on the walls that I felt looked a bit out of place with the surroundings. The bar is located in the centre of the pub and supports four hand pumps which were drawing Harveys Best, Skinners Kate Loves Willy and O’Hanlons Dragon’s Ale with the forth being unused. There is also a standard draught menu alongside Amstel and food is available for around £4.50 for the bar menu and £10 from the main menu. Outside there are some picnic tables on a small lawn area and another four are located on the edge of the beach the other side of a small car park.
This place does feel like it has been refurbished in the last couple of years and I thought that it lacked some atmosphere with the bar area feeling very sterile, but I enjoyed a few games of darts and the Harveys was spot on so I see no reason why I wouldn’t return after enjoying the beach again.

The Moorings has been closed since before Easter 2008 after firstly getting into financial bother and then falling foul of 'elf and safety over the kitchen electrics. Shame!! I sit outside and watch the sea and pretend my pint of Harveys is in my hand
