I didn't really take any notice of how stunning looking this pub is from the outside, until I saw Moby's recent photo. The interior of the pub is tastefully finished with William Morris wallpaper and a very ornate looking central bar, plus some lovely stained glass panels above the windows. However you will pay a premium at the bar for this privilege, £6 for a pint of cask, which was in excellent condition plus the young barmaid did do a fabulous group photo.

After a short walk through picturesque Southover Grange Gardens, we find ourselves in affluent Southover.
This is quite an upmarket pub so naturally a bit foodie. Customers were prosperous locals, then an eclectic mêlée drawn from around the country.
A Gun/Harvey’s selection amounted to a half of Old Ale, a very pricey £3.00 – understandable given the location – and good.
A nice pub in a fine location, but as mentioned, the ale choice is limited and the more-than-London prices are a deterrent.

Moby Duck left this review about The Kings Head

Set in the Lewes backstreets The Kings Head is a pleasant traditional pub with several areas around the centrally placed island bar. There were three cask beers on offer, a couple from Harveys as you would expect, Old Ale and Sussex Best along with Gun Scaramanga, the Old was very good.
A pleasant pub I'd have no problem returning to.
