Bucking Fastard left this review about The Wheatsheaf
A traditional locals boozer in the back streets of town,it is quite small with a single open plan room,a couple of banquettes, darts board, flatscreen for sport and a modest bar. There are small figurines of Man Utd players displayed behind the bar, sadly predictable this far from Old Trafford.
There were four handpumps serving GK IPA (doubled up),Doom Bar and Adnams Southwold Bitter (£3.30,OK but a BBB).
I came here on the back of a 2016 GBG entry,it's a decent boozer but not worthy of a GBG entry given a very pedestrian selection of ale.Rather than try and fill their "quota",why dont the local CAMRA branch admit to a dearth of outstanding real ale pubs on their patch, and allow other branches to include a worthy "near miss"to their selection ?
Not on the list for a revisit.
