I found The Railway to be busy on a Friday afternoon with a varied assortment of groups. As described previously, there's plenty of individualistic touches and lots of seats inside, with a beer garden outside at the back.
The pub's part of the Good Times group apparently, so 1 of the cask ales and several of the keg options were labelled thusly though with no indication of the true brewery behind these. Nevertheless the Pale off the handpump slipped down easily enough. Lakedown and Harvey's provided the other 2 ales, with 2 pumps serving Seaciders.
There's a quite extensive menu, which seems to be offered for much of the day, so it's worth popping in for whatever fuelling choices you require.

Welcoming and friendly railway pub, right next to the level crossing. Large open space with bar counter against the right hand wall, with wood panelling painted a vibrant olive green. Six hand pumps with five beers and a cider (see photo). I went for Lakedown Sussex Pale which was on tremendous condition (NBSS 4) - the barman told me it had been selling well. An interesting and lively soundtrack at a reasonable volume and some eccentric touches in the décor helped to make this an enjoyable pub visit.

Cask Fan left this review about The Railway Inn
The pub was quite busy when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. It seemed very popular with families and groups. There were 4 cask ales on, and a good selection of ciders and kegs. Slightly pricey, my pint of cask was £5.20. An interesting choice of Asian themed food was available, from snacks to larger meals. Very convenient for the railway station.
