This is a compact Harvey's pub just off busy London Road, so things are a little quieter in here. 4 handpumps sit on an odd perch above the bar and these supply Weston's cider and 3 Harvey's ales, including the Beak collaboration Spring. 2 Harvey's keg beers accompany a regular keg selection.

Food is little more than a choice of 3 toasties.

A cool music soundtrack (too cool for me to identify) made for a relaxing visit.

A first revisit in eight years, back then on the Pubs Galore crawl of Brighton it was a fine, basic traditional pub, yesterday I discovered a fantastic, revitalized and vibrant, more colourful pub, befitting of trendy Brighton, yet maintaining traditional values an serving up top notch beer quality. Four handpumps, Harvey's Old Ale, NBSS 4.5 and Sussex Best, NBSS 4 were both enjoyed, also on was a seasonal beer from Harvey's, the name now forgotten. For me this now joins Brighton's elite pubs, upping my 2018 score of 6/10 to 9/10.

For some reason when in Brighton and after a pint of Harvey’s I’ve tended to visit the Lord Nelson and give this one a miss. But a visit as part of the Pubs Galore crawl exposed that to be a mistake. This is another fine Harvey’s pub in Brighton Town. Well described by previous reviewers I liked the layout of this two room pub and the fact that it was being well utilised by friendly locals, one of which didn’t mind us perching around his table.
I do like Harveys Mild’s and dark beers, so was good to find the Dark Mild and Dark Porter on and the Porter was very pleasant. Yes totally agree, well worth searching out..
