The Mile Oak is split into two separate halves with a public bar to the left and a smaller saloon bar to the right. The public bar houses two pool tables that are free to play on Mondays and Thursday. There is also a plasma screen for showing sport and a jukebox which was off as Champions League game was being aired. Poker is advertised for every Sunday and karaoke is hosted every other weekend on either Friday or Saturday evening. At the rear there is some café seating in a paved area that is enclosed by six foot fencing. There seemed to be more people out here smoking than were actually in the public bar during my recent midweek evening visit.
The smaller right hand saloon bar was very busy with locals, but I managed to grab a table under the plasma screen which was also showing the football, but if my memory serves me correctly this was muted. There is another room to the right which was out of bounds, as was the large beer garden full of picnic tables at the rear.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the only food that I saw advertised were pizzas for £5. This pub doesn’t open until 13:00 during the week and midday at the weekends. There is also a late license until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a decent enough pub for the locals of the area, but the location in the middle of nowhere dictates that I’ll not be visiting here again as it isn’t a place I would go out of the way to visit.
