The White Crow was previously called the Hub and from what I could tell during my visit early yesterday (Tuesday) evening it is primarily a darts pub. I thought that the darts advertised every week night was the World Championships on Sky, but the scrawlings were in regard to leagues and competitions that take place on the three boards. There is also a pool table that was covered over and some disco equipment from a previous night’s boogie was placed along the right hand wall. The two plasma screens were off during the darts and a Blackburn v Bolton in the Premiership so I gather that there is no Sky Sports. Heart FM was playing in the background complete with annoyingly loud advertisements. The décor in this reasonably sized single room pub is basic and the two hand pumps on the bar were unused leaving a standard draught selection.
There is a lot of student accommodation for Brighton University in this part of town, but I think that this pub is more likely to be populated by the local estate crowd. I didn’t feel that comfortable in here and there are better pubs in the area.
