This small bar, Wimborne's oldest, is all that remains of the pub business which once occupied this former coaching inn. It survived a devastating fire in the 1970s but is now uder threat from the owners, Hall and Woodhouse, who want to turn the whole building into a dry B&B business. The bar is small, atmospheric and homely. There is a garden at the back and a seating area at the side behind the entrance arch. There is a mix of seating, a woodburning fire, a friendly pub dog and friendly bar staff who will, sadly, be made redundant later this year. Free wifi is available and they run regular open mic nights. Freshly cooked food is available as are 3 ales. I had a pint of Billy Stinger which was a bit lacklustre. Although not the best pub in Wimborne, it is nonetheless a piece of history which should be retained so visit this pub for a pint while you still can.
