Like all of the other pubs and bars along this stretch of Esplanade the New Vic has café seating out the front. I visited early on a recent midweek evening when there were more people sitting outside than in. A U shaped bar area is found at the front in the centre of the pub and around to the rear left is a very big restaurant area. Around to the right is a children’s soft play area and behind the bar is table football and a pool table. A plasma screen was showing muted Olympic coverage and there was a band singing some popular hits. Live music and other entertainment is advertised for most nights throughout the summer.
The kitchen had closed when I visited so I didn’t see any menus, but I did note the drink offerings that were Amstel, standard draught and draught Old Speckled Hen.

I’m sure that this place is great if the family is looking for somewhere to go for a quick bite, but I wouldn’t choose to drink here on my own again.

The New Vic is a fantastic Family Pub.The Staff are lovely and funny and the food is good value for money,there is a ball pond which keeps the kids entertained.Our family enjoy comming here when we are on holiday.
