A Georgian small-town pub, primarily concerned with serving its local community. There is a small garden, a skittle alley and a bench seat at the front. Inside, there is a public bar at the back with a pool table and gaming machine, while the two front rooms have been partly opened out to form a single saloon bar. Three open fireplaces provide warmth in Winter. The décor is shabby and could do with updating. The staff are friendly, and the pub hosts various events including supporting local charities. Food is basic, standard pub grub. Only one ale on, Ringwood Best, but it was in good condition. There was also a boxed cider behind the bar. Not really a venue of choice, but good enough to drop in for a pint if in the area.
