Palmers pub on the main street through Charmouth. Being on a hill, it is a split-level pub with a bar to the left and a dining room on the upper level to the right but many tables in the bar were also reserved for diners. There is pale green painted wallpaper in the bar, with magnolia walls in the dining room. To the front, there is a popular patio area with a few tables. Both children and dogs are welcome. Music was playing and there are some board games available to play in the entrance to the toilets. A wifi code is provided.
Regular cask ales are IPA, Copper & Dorset Gold. An additional beer was 200 and they also had Dorset Orchards First Press cider, in addition to Gold & Orchard Haze on keg. Palmer's Dorset Pale was on keg too.
This appears to be a very popular place for food. Both staff and customers appeared friendly too. A fairly good choice.

A traditional Georgian seaside town pub with two bars on slightly different levels. It is run by Palmers. The upper lounge is cosy and has tables laid for diners. Dogs are only permitted in the lower public bar, which has a massive curved TV screen over an open fireplace with a small woodburner. There is also a dartboard. Food is good, basic pub grub, but not that cheap, though the beer was actually well-priced compared to other Palmer’s pubs. Ales on draught were Copper, 200, IPA, Dorset Gold and Beach Caster, all in excellent condition. The pub was very welcoming, definitely the pub of choice here.

The Royal Oak is a decent pub on the eastern side of Charmouth.
This is a smallish Palmers tied house that had a couple of rooms i went in the smallish lounge which was quite a nice room to have a drink in.
There were three palmers real ales on the bar i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which was a very nice drink the other beers were Bridport bitter and Palmers 200.
I thought this was the best pub in Charmouth and i would happily visit again.
Pub visited 23 August 2000.
