Under new management since April 24, this old town inn is still owned by Palmers and is primarily an hotel. The small L-shaped bar feels like someone's granny's front room, with its dated carpet, 1970s-style stone fireplace and antique sideboard. The new tenants, though, want to make it into a proper pub, starting by promoting the ale and encouraging CAMRA custom. Both East and West Dorset CAMRA newsletters were available so they are trying. There was opera on the WiFi, a pleasant change from the MOBO noise so prevalent elsewhere. Ales on were all Palmer's - Copper in excellent condition, IPA, Bridport Bitter and Dorset Gold, though surprisingly First Press cider was absent. Keg choices were Palmer's Dorset Pale, Guinness, Orchard Haze, Orchard Gold, Moretti and Amstel. Hopefully this pub will do well now, particularly as several other local pubs have closed recently.

This is a small Palmers tied house on Bridports main shopping street.
Once inside here there is a smallish room that is fairly basic but comfortable i had a drink of Palmers best bitter and this was very nice the other beers were Bridport bitter and Dorset Gold.
