As described by others, below, this Palmer's pub is on the main road down to West Bay and makes for a convenient pit-stop. Despite its position it's not overrun by grockles, possibly due to the car park's entrance not being that obvious, so it's easy to miss. It was quite a friendly pub, mainly locals over 50 when we went in, the TV screens were muted and the jukebox was, at best, bland. There were some jokes printed and pinned above the urinals, but whilst amusing they were of a nature that shouldn't be repeated here. Children were not allowed in the courtyard garden at the back, nor were they allowed to use the dartboard. Ales on were all Palmer's - Copper in excellent condition, Dorset Gold, IPA, Tally Ho! and Bridport Bitter remained untested. The keg range consisted of Dorset Pale, Amstel, Guinness, Cruzcampo, Orchard Haze, Orchard Gold and Carlsberg. I'd be very happy to come back next time I'm passing, if only for the beer quality.

Medium sized Palmers’ house next to the main A35 roundabout at the foot of Bridport town, with five hand pumps serving Copper Ale, Best, Dorset Gold, 200, and Taunton Traditional Cider. Thatchers’ Gold cider was also available along with a fairly normal keg range. Food is served from noon through to 9pm, unlike most pubs in the area which close their kitchens in the afternoons.
This is okay for downing a pint or catching up on food in the afternoon, but is so like many other mediocre establishments, with louder music than is necessary on a summer afternoon, a loud games machine, smartly framed but particularly vulgar jokes in the gents, etc. It seems to have found its niche and works hard to serve its purpose: service is friendly and efficient, and for example they put on fairly regular live music nights (I was particularly relieved to find we’d just missed an Elvis tribute night) but to an out-of-towner like me it just feels like they are making the most of an intrinsically characterless pub. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here.

The Crown Inn is next to a roundabout to the south of the town centre.
This is a decent looking pub that was quite smart inside there is also a small garden at the front to watch the traffic go by,this pub is a Palmers tied house and there were four real ales on here i had a drink of Dorset Gold this was quite a nice drink the other beers were Palmers best bitter, Bridport bitter and palmers 200.
This pub is a handy stop off if walking to or from West Bay.
