Will Larter left this review about Gwesty Ty'n-y-Cornel Hotel
I was staying at a camp site a few miles away and spotted this hotel on my fairly old Ordnance Survey map, so thought I would check if it was still in business and had a public bar. The answer to both questions is "yes", as the hotel is looking very smart and there is indeed a public bar with four or five hand pumps. One was hidden behind a cake, and on closer inspection was Black Rock, a 5.6% stout from Tudor Brewery in Abertillery. It was just gone 11:30am, so I asked the receptionist if it was ok to have a beer at this hour and I was soon drinking this very reasonably priced and very good beer (NBSS 3.5 or possibly 4, £4.80/pint) in the rather opulent room next to the bar, with its tremendous view over Llyn Mwyngil. Worth a visit, I would say, and easily found just off the A487.
