Bucking Fastard left this review about Uile- Bheist Distillery & Brewery
To the side of the Glen Mhor hotel is a modern distillery and brewery with a seperate entrance to the tap room although if you go left you will see a small snug with two bench seats which may well be the Nicky Tams area of the other Pubsgalore listing, unvisited by me.Beyond Nicky Tams is the hotel dining room.
Anyway the tap room to the right has its own vibe, high ceiling ,high refectory tables and vast frosted automatic doors if you want the loos. The bar is to the side and the huge windows give views of the brewing and distilling equipment.
The distillery output is still ageing so not available for a few years ,however a weekly special is offered and will be very strong.
There is no real ale brewing just keg and the 10 taps were all clipped but not all serving. This left a choice of their Highland Storm,Forest Dweller and Inverness Lager with a guest of Black Isle Goldfinch. We would have stayed if some of their stronger output was available but the low strength options didn't inspire.
There is a huge awning outside with views over the River Ness and the pic nic benches here were a pleasant spot in good weather.
The bar feels a bit disorganised and a keg only operation surely can feature a wider selection of their wares. We left disappointed and didn't return during the rest of our stay.
