Small shop conversion (next door to a sports bar that closed nine months ago for a rebranding and has not reopened yet. This bar has bare brick walls and double glazed front windows, but blankets are provided, so it must get cold in the evenings. Six keg taps on the bar, with two ciders, two lagers, Neck Oil and Caffreys Black. I was surprised that the latter is 3.4%, so more "mild" than "stout", but still a stonking £5.10/pint. It's quite pleasant here on a sunny spring afternoon with 1970s Diana Ross on the sound system, but I'm not yearning for a return visit. Upstairs there's some more seating, and a toilet. There's also a surprising chimney, and some bricks from local collieries have been used, which is a nice touch.
