Old Boots left this review about Hop Stop
The only craft bar/micro in town I suppose and much like many in some ways. Probably a shop conversion, seating at normal tables and chairs in the front area, the chairs match and the two types of cast iron base tables match too - no “harlequin” bollocks here. A narrower section to the rear left takes you to the counter, the beer list of 10, including a cider from bloody Clarkson’s Hawkstone, is to the right. A mix of local from Round Corner, Hofmeister - not the follow the bear stuff these days, a trio from Yorkshire (Brew York, Vocation and Brennan's Stout brewed by Theakstons), Electric Bear and Wild Beer Co. I found the beer a touch too cold and too carbonated, the Electric Bear was a nasty Mosaic laden hazy, however the Wild Beer Bibble was chilly but more reasonably carbonated. Five weak still ciders are also stocked according to a blackboard. Most customers on my early evening visit, it opens at 4pm, were younger women till a few middle class chaps came in. The toilets are rear to the right, through the room housing the cooling system.
