The Talbot recently reopened under new management after a spell hosting The Wild Garlic restaurant. The restaurant's legacy can still be seen in the incongruous glass doors, but otherwise this is now a very nice roadside inn offering B&B, bar food and Badger beers. There is a fair sized car park from which the bar is entered. The floor is primarily 1960s parquet, the décor is fresh and modern, the tables appear to be hand-made oak. There is a pleasant ambiance, occasionally marred by overloud drunk women, but not spoilt by gaming machines or muzak, the staff are young and enthusiastic. The food was a bit pricey but very good nonetheless. There were 2 ales on draft and a selection of bottled beers. I had both Tanglefoot and First Call from the pumps and found them to be in very good condition. A very good destination for an overnight stay, a casual lunch or just a quick pint.
