Small oblong place with an appeal to the local Warsaw Pakts. In a decent state of repair which isn't necessarily a given in Coalville. Comedy wedding reception style disco on the go at half 4 replete with primary coloured flashing lights. Reclining sofas out the back which were unfortunately already being hogged and a comedy ‘if you miss, clean your piss!’ message on the upper bog seat. Four kegs and no cask though the fridge has a few things from the local supermarket and a bottle of Theako OP in a caskless pub can't be sniffed at - £4.50. I half-pondered trying the advertised Tunisia Bullfrog cocktail – ‘very strong!’ said the sign – but sense got the better of me. I quite liked the DIY ethos and in a town with few quality options, this one at least feels fun. 5.5
