Update 17 Apr 16:
New owners have changed the food menu and now offer a wider range of ub grub alongside the burgers and pizzas. Two Badger beers on, well-kept and enjoyable. The atmosphere, though, is no longer as convivial as before, and the kitchen is chaotic - meals take a long time to arrive, and the staff are not the most efficient. Still worth dropping in for a pint if passing.
[Original review from 22 Apr 13] A busy 19th Century roadside inn, which apparently does B&B, owned by Hall and Woodhouse. There is a single L-shaped bar, a good sized car park and a garden. It's become a pub/diner in recent years, so is not a country pub any more, more a pub/diner. There are good, cheap food deals, though, and it is dog friendly. The mixed clientele is lively, though the bar staff are a bit dappy. There is free wifi available. There were 4 ales on, 3 from Badger and a guest - I had the guest, which was King and Barnes - and it was really good. Worth stopping for lunch and a pint, and it can be combined with a visit to the Woodpecker down the road as part of a crawl.
