An ill-timed visit as boards outside noted that the place was due to close on 6th July, although a punter inside informed me that the closure would be for three months for refurbishment. This probably explained the overgrown back garden and lack of beer availability - a Henry Ford-esque choice of Carlsberg lager or Carlsberg lager (I went for a pint of the latter). It's a nice little multi-roomed boozer and had the added attraction of a mobile fish & chip van out front on my weeknight visit although I didn't partake. Let's hope the refurb goes well and this pub is firing on all cylinders come the autumn.
