Formerly "Nelson's Cheese and Ale House", Nelson's is a recently renovated old town centre pub with bare boards, exposed brickwork and some slightly suspect beams. The effect is very pleasant and makes for an agreeable place to have a snack and a pint. It has a lively local following, mostly the more mature (ie over 30) section of Blandford's inhabitants. It runs quiz nights, happy hours (on Fridays) and live music, events advertised on a series of flat screens around the walls which seem a little incongruous. Two ales on this time, both Ringwood, both served at the right temperature and very well kept. A definite inclusion in any crawl and a good place to spend an evening.
