Peter Forster left this review about The Bear
A small cafe bar overlooking the prominent St Leonards Clock Tower. As far as I could see it has just one room, half carpeted, half wood floored and sparsely furnished. In addition tables are set up outside in the pedestrianised street. The bar is fronted with black corrugated metal. Beers on offer included Camden Hazy, Camden Pale and a house beer, The Bear Jungle Lager (£5 a pint), apparently supplied to them by a brewery in Rotherham. It was a refreshing pint on a hot day. Food is available, burgers and the like. This is a respectable place to grab a beer whilst out shopping or maybe a bite to eat. Friendly staff are obviously trying hard to make it work.
