paulof horsham left this review about The Mad Cat

This is the Crafty Cat to next door's Trad Cat. There's 4 hand pumps, but only two of them clipped up and even then, both were serving "Mad Cat" pale; a third pump advertised the various ciders. And then there's 3 banks of 4 keg taps, but only one of them offering genuine modern keg from Only With Love, Oakham, Polly's and Bristol Beer Factory, though these were very reasonably priced at £6. Other taps pour Guinness, Bitburger, Neck Oil and a few lagers.

The room was devoid of drinkers this afternoon, with a dozen or so opting for the benches outside on West End Street. The stools and benches inside are uniformly wood, so there's little effort given to your comfort. The music backtrack for this visit was Classic Indie.

All in all, I found this rather odd in a "shall we give this craft business a go then?" kind of way.

By all means pop in to see what's on, though if you're a cask die-hard, you probably won't be in for long. Having paid a visit, you'll probably want to go (or return) to the permanent beer festival at the adjacent Fat Cat.
