Blackthorn _ left this review about Salcombe Tap House

Located just towards the edge of Salcombe in a former boat yard, this is a modern and contemporary pub, and whilst it’s inevitably somewhat industrial in appearance, they’ve made a pretty good effort to soften it somewhat, and it’s certainly more appealing than many brewery taps in cold and dark units with no atmosphere whatsoever.

Internally it’s a reasonable size and has concrete screed on the floor, a vaulted roof with a few wooden joists, and plain whitewashed walls along with predominantly exposed stone walling along the front of the pub. Elsewhere, vertical wooden slats had been fixed to the walls, whilst a flat screen TV ran a series of pub adverts, such as the range of filled rolls that were available. Seating was a mixture of fitted wooden pews and regular wooden chairs, whilst a small snug off to the right was a cosier spot. A gas fire was in one corner which was a nice touch on a cold day, and the stainless steel brewing vessels were clearly visible behind the bar.

Beers on tap were all their own as might be expected, and on this occasion consisted of Devon Amber, Shingle Bay, Gold and Christmas Tide, the latter of which went down very well. The solitary cider was also their own Ocean Cider. Overall, not a bad spot, and certainly worth the short stroll from the town centre.
