Will Larter left this review about Oakworth Social Club

This is a social club, but is open to non-members for a fee of just £1 per day. This fee is waived if a valid Camra membership card is shown. The manager and three locals had me pegged as a CAMRA member when they saw me taking a photo from across the road, and one of them called out "you're barred!" as soon as I put my head around the door. There are three beers, two on the front bar (Bingley Kinetic and Timothy Taylor Golden Best) and Saltaire Blonde in the back room.

There's been a recent refurbishment - so recent that there are notices still around warning that the front room was closed yesterday and the back room today. The wallpaper has been painted a very modest shade of mushroom, while the wood panelling and bar surround are in duck egg blue. Upholstery on the bench seats is maroon, and regular chairs are in the same shade or a subtle oatmeal, both of which go well with the blonde wood of the tables. The carpet is a tasteful number, reflecting some of those colours in a random pattern of tessera.

My beer from Bingley was not GBG quality, having a slight haze and an even slighter tang (NBSS 2), but the Golden Best was pretty good (NBSS 3.5). Timothy Taylor have a reputation for expensive beers, but my two halves came to just £3.10.
