The Old Pawn Shop, yes it was at some point a jewellery and pawn shop, is a small wooden floored bar, café and restaurant with a counter that runs along the front window with a few premium keg fonts in the window, which is something I’ve not seen before. Most of the keg was unavailable late on a Friday afternoon, which I found bizarre, but Guinness and Blue Moon were on, the latter would have been my choice anyway. Beyond the front bar seating are some small wood panelled seating areas that are quite cosy, although it wouldn’t take too many to make this place feel claustrophobic. There was loungey Christmas music in the background which was interspersed with barking from what I took to be the bar’s dog, well the guy on duty seemed to be well acquainted with it. He, and his young lady assistant, were friendly and I enjoyed my pint, but I’ll probably walk past next time.
