I’m not one for adding hotel bars, and especially not Thyme Premier Inn bars, but this one at Old Trafford Premier Inn has its own entrance and is classed as a bar in its own right, especially on match day. The central island counter surrounded with laminate flooring separates the carpeted front bar and the also carpeted large restaurant at the rear. The open plan bar area has lots of central standing room and seating along the front and right-hand windows. On the left-hand wall is a gaming machine and there was some generic background music playing during my recent Wednesday afternoon visit when there were ten or so people in attendance, some of whom weren’t hotel guests. There’s only keg here with the options being from left to right Carling, Worthington’s, Guinness, Strongbow, Heineken, Stella and Coors. The service from both the barman and barmaid was very friendly and this is a lot more pub-like than any other Thyme I can remember visiting, but now I’ve been I doubt I’ll make a return visit.
