Late 70s build estate pub in an area that comes with a bit of a rep but it was all fairly tame and inside it was really quite friendly - one of the locals offered to walk an old boy on a zimmer home and I was challenged to a game of pool by one of the older locals (hi, Chris!) who I graciously lost to on the black. Inside has recently been refurbished in grey, black and silver – and a fish tank (!); the Hindu lass behind the bar might explain the decor choice and the diversity also extended to the majority of customers being black. An all-keg line-up with a too-late-spotted keg bitter, unfortunately Poretti was my panic buy but it was fair. Overall, I was actually quite impressed give the context.
