Graham Coombs left this review about Escrick & Deighton Club
The village club, now open to the public since the demise of the Black Bull. It is in a nice traditional Edwardian sports club-looking building overlooking the tennis courts and what was presumably once a bowling green but is now a field with picnic tables. The bar is in the right hand side, with a function room in the left. There is one smallish room, tidily decorated (sadly mostly in grey) with some old feature bits visible above the more modern facelift, which includes a few high tables and stools. There is a sports TV in one corner and an electronic dartboard in another. The little counter has a T-bar of standard keg and a brace of hand pumps offering a reasonable if slightly lively Ainsty Flummoxed Farmer @ £4. It opens 18.00 Mon-Thurs, 15.00 Fri and 14.00 Sat/Sun until 23.00, with a limited food service on Fridays and Saturdays. Odd events are arranged occasionally. Not really a destination, but a pleasant stop-off if passing and for the locals a useful alternative to the rather bogus hotel "pub" down the road.
