Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Custom Cafe
American-style roadside diner, known to be popular with bikers but not in an exclusive way (as there was a wide range of customers in on a Sunday lunchtime). Range of seating in the square main dining room, under the verandah, on the decking terrace and up a bit in the leafy side beer garden. Very limited keg beer selection - Shipyard IPA (£5.20), Poretti and Guinness - but a wider choice of bottles in the fridge. However, my visit was made by the very proficient blues quartet playing in the compact covered outdoor stage.

Strongers . left this review about The Custom Cafe
The Custom Café is a ‘diner, bar and lounge’ on the A259 to the West of Cooden and Bexhill. I’ve driven past many times over the years, but I’ve only been in twice. My first visit would have been about five years ago when I considered it to be very much a café that happened to have an alcohol license and a couple of draught lager options, so I didn’t bother adding it to PuG. During my second visit around lunchtime last Saturday only the right hand side of the building was being used for dining. I noted the L-shaped exposed brick serving counter to the left and faux fireplace on the rear wall. This is a biker venue so there’s lots of petrol head ephemera on the walls and in the front window is an impressive custom made motorbike. There’s another small motorbike opposite the counter on the way to the Cooltastico Lounge which is a parquet floored seating area in the left-hand side of the building. There was someone in here playing on a guitar, but I think it was more practice than for anyone’s entertainment. Along the front of the lounge is an enclosed verandah that has some art for sale up on the walls. The doors open daily 08:00 – 16:00, and also 18:00 – 23:00 on Thursdays and Fridays when there is music and I imagine it’s full of bikers, but a sign states that all are welcome. The service is friendly, but draught options of Poretti, Shipyard Pale Ale and Guinness aren’t going to entice me back just for a drink.
