Rob Hunter left this review about Lytham Hop House
With a name like Lytham Hop House, I was expecting a micro pub or craft beer type place, but this really has more of a cafe bar type vibe. Plenty of older people on the outside tables to the front enjoying their lattes at the time of my visit just before midday on Monday.
However, at the bar are four hand pulls, offering Three B's Hop House Bitter, Three B's Bee Blonde, Bowland Gold and Moorhouses Pride of Pendle. My Hop House Bitter was £2.20 for a half but had a bit of an odd taste, like a metallic twang, which I wasn't that keen on.
I didn't see any sign of food being served other than cakes etc as you would expect to go with the coffees, however they do have pork pies and do a cask pint and pork pie deal for £6.75(?) - the pie on its own is £2.95 so it's a good deal if you fancy a savoury snack.
Five keg options spotted too, and not your usual Carling and John Smiths etc, with two chalk board menus listing everything available as you go in - one for beer and one for hot drinks.
There is plenty of seating throughout, five tables in a lighter area to the front of the premises then it gets more dark and dim (should I say cosy?) as you get further towards the bar.
Free water is available, Wi-Fi is advertised, music was playing at a nice level, but as mentioned it feels more like a hot drinks place than a bar to me. Perhaps that changes depending on your time of visit. Toilets are upstairs (2 x unisex) and service was pleasant.
