Bucking Fastard left this review about Roman Way Brewery
Set in an industrial unit of the former Victorian Barracks, this is a classic tap room with brewery kit behind the servery,a blackboard describing Roman Way output plus guests beers with a large table underneath, and an awning outside with space heaters and lots of assorted bench seating.Limited opening hours generally Fridays and Saturdays 5pm -9pm although if there is a good crowd you wont get chased off. However if trade is very slow ,the tap might just close early. Some summer Sundays it will be open but you need to view their facebook page for details.
There is a regularly changing street food outlet/van for food, again details on facebook.
On my trip there were three RW cask ales Germania Pale,Senate Gold (NBSS 3) and Paradox ,a sweet oatmeal milk stout (NBSS 3.5).There was also a RW keg pilsner and two guests kegs from Avalanche Brew in Kettering and a sparkling cider from Saxby's.Nothing over 4.5% and the guest ales didnt expand the style offering while the RW brews were inoffensive but muted.I didn't like the plastic mugs ,difficult to carry and this is not the sort of place where anything will kick off, unlike some of the local pubs.
Competition in brewing is fierce and I wish this new venture well, the venue brings hipsteriam to Weedon and a welcome change from the somewhat dull pub scene in the village.
Roman Way refers to Watling Street aka A5 which runs through the area.Worth visiting for the location alone,I will pop in again when navigating the nearby Grand Union.
