A cocktail/wine bar among similar bars and restaurants close to the exhibition centre and Royal Hall and probably aimed at the conference trade. Outside, on a busy thoroughfare, is a small decked area with a trio of tables and chairs. Inside is dark with an arched spine wall separating an upper seating area from the lower counter area. The walls are generally yellow with interesting art works, the ceilings and some walls are dark blue. One trio T-bar with just something called Grand Central IPA on, a Cruzcampo tap was glassed, blank third. Grand Central is apparently the craft wing of Hydes in Manchester, ok as a cold fizzy beer; £4.50 a half was a bit steep but not unexpected, the menu says £5 for a schooner and £6.50 for the pint. Cruzcampo would have been £4.50 and £6.25 respectively. I did get a small bowl of salty snack pretzels included although they didn’t counteract the funny smell in the place soon after opening. Not far from some good places.

Called in here on a Sunday evening when it was very quiet, there were only 3 other people in the place. Very nicely decorated with a very eclectic mix of seating. Sadly there's no real ale, so I had a lager and Ms CAMRA had a glass of red wine. It's a pleasant place, but quite similar to the other new places along here.

Formally the Lotus Bar that changed it's name in July 24 and is an independent cocktail type of bar at the lower end of Cheltenham Crescent. Live music is performed on occasions with a DJ on Saturdays. There is no cask but there are 3 kegs on
