David Walton left this review about Wood Street Bear
Visited 22/04/26
Cask here comprised three from East London Brewing Co – the Pale Ale, the Quadrant oatmeal stout, the Nightwatchman dark bitter and the Foundation best bitter. The keg offering was the John Doe porter from Brockley Brewery, the Pilsner and the Lager from Pillars, the Elbow Crocker from Neckstamper, the Superfly West Coast IPA from Hackney Church Brewing, the Bear Blonde from Elephant School, the Vintage Cider from Luke’s Cider and the Crafty Apple cider. There were a couple of wines on tap also.
Shop fronted micropub with tiled flooring and bar counter in the rear right hand corner. Mish mash of seating down both sides and a couple of stools at the bar counter. Pleasant space and excellent conversation with owner and one of the regulars at the bar counter that made for an exceptionally enjoyable stay. The venue has a couple of beer festivals each year, indeed the next was starting the day after my visit with half a dozen casks on some racking to the side of the bar counter plus a variety of still ciders and ongoing 23-26/04 so still time to head there this afternoon / evening and tomorrow now that I have started to update my visits from this week! Blows the other venues near Wood St station out of the water and a much more enjoyable venue than the rather bigger and impersonal Clapton Craft outlet a few doors down.
