Impressive country hotel on the road out of North Cardiff over Caerphilly mountain and before you reach the Travellers Rest. Cosy bar with a grand view looking over Cardiff and the distance. The bar itself is small but there are lots of very comfortable sofas and armchairs to relax into.
There were four draught beers, nothing too fancy though, Peroni, Madri, Atlantic Pale Ale and a cider that i didn't note. Very characterful bar manager who we had a nice chat with before sinking into our sofa.
Not likely to be a destination in its own right unless you are heading there for a wedding or a wake or other function. Some good pubs in the vicinity so worth popping in if passing to catch the view over the city!
