Well described by Old Boots, and not my sort of place at all. Three cask beers on, and my pint of Lumford, a 3.9% pale from Thornbridge was pretty good (NBSS 3.5) but also pretty expensive (£4.80/pint). The main room has a rough, unfinished floor, and ranks of cafe tables. Upstairs there's more of the same before you reach the toilets. I sat outside, which was as pleasant as a pedestrianised area in Castleford can be expected to be. At least it wasn't raining, or blazing sunshine.

Not looking inspiring but a local in the Yorkshire Craft beers bar pointed me here. The usual shop conversion type micro-ish place it is related to Yorkshire Craft beers. Square rather than long and thin, it has cafe style seating to the front and a counter across the back wall. Here you will find two horseshoes of a mix of national but not downmarket kegs plus a trio of hand pumps with a couple from Horsforth Brewing and Titanic plum Porter, Horsforth’s , in my opinion lack lustre, beers are a regular apparently. Better than many in Cas’. Toilets upstairs by some more seating.
