Strongers . left this review about Metropole Bar @ DoubleTree by Hilton

Metropole Bar is the once grand hotel bar of the now Doubletree Hotel. The U-shaped counter on the left-hand wall supports four Camden lagers alongside Stella, Leffe, Mahou and Kopperberg on draught. The parquet floored left hand side has a couple of threadbare carpets and a mix of furniture including a long high table with stools opposite the counter and lounge chairs across the rear. The right-hand side has a chequered tile floor again with a mix of seating, including brown shell banquettes up the right-hand wall. A pint of Stella and half a lemonade from the miserable bar staff set me back over a tenner, I’ll not be returning.

Previously visited on 24/06/22 and visited again on 09/06/24.

Large Bar in the Double Tree by Hilton on the Brighton seafront on the next block to the Brighton Grand Hotel. Pleasant bar with a variety of seating, booths, bar stools and a large number of small and larger typical chain hotel bar tables and chairs. Light and airy space.

Previous visit they had the lovely German wheat beer Franziskaner on tap. Now quite an average offering, although a couple of interesting additions. I had the quaff from the Loud Shirt Brewing Co that I had seen in an earlier venue on the seafront. Also present were Camden Hells and Pale Ale, a couple from Midway including the Goose Island Pale Ale. Another one offering the Orchard Pig cider along with Guinness and a couple of other mainstream lagers.

Again not a destination in itself obviously but a useful space to kill some time whilst planning other venues to tick off or, as probably most other people do, use as a meeting place or or a place for meetings!
