Part of the Loungers chain and housed in a former branch of Barclays Bank, it's a long, rectangular room which stretches back; the extra space afforded by the removal of the teller stations and area behind, plus the breakout areas that were to the rear. Servery to the right-hand side, and plenty of seating options all around. No real ale, but some crafty bits including Brixton Pale Ale on keg dispense and British Beer Factory Milk Stout in bottle form. A 330ml bottle of Clear Head – a non-alcholic beer – by the same brewery came to £4.65, and was initially served along with a glass with ice by the Iron Maiden t-shirt-wearing barman(?). This seems to be one of those places where they take the payment first, before serving you, so if this gets your goat, be warned. I was saying to someone the other day, that when I first started going out drinking, a little under 30 years ago, Thame was like the Wild West on a Friday and Saturday night; the opening of this place shows how much it has changed.
