Large and smart new pub owned by Hyde's. It has parquet flooring with rugs and a tiled skirt around the bar. The colour scheme is green and cream. A dining room can be found at the right-hand end near the entrance to the car park. It has lots of pictures on the walls and some police memorabilia in a cabinet, reflecting the building's former use as a police station.

The left-hand end is more for drinkers but it has a comfortable lounge-like feel. A TV was showing a muted Sky programme with music playing instead and there was a tiled fireplace. To the front of the pub was a nice patio area, where quite a few tables were occupied with punters enjoying some early spring sunshine.

A long bar has two sets of handpulls one with 3 pulls and the other with 4. There were 4 cask ales in all. Hyde's Original & Lowry are the 2 regular beers. Guests were their Hopster & A Cut Above. Beavertown Neck Oil was on keg and the cider was Inch's. A sign on the bar was also promoting a cocktail range. There are several police hats/helmets on a high shelf behind the bar.

Toilets are a trek upstairs, similar to a Wetherspoon's. A live music festival was being advertised for May 23rd and there is a quiz night every Thursday. Roast dinners are served on a Sunday.

This pub is centrally located in Heswall. So, it's sure to attract plenty of custom. It's not a traditional pub and is probably aimed more at diners than drinkers but there aren't too many Hyde's pubs I can think of in Merseyside. So, it's something a little bit different for the area.
