Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cocky Anchor

Interesting micro-pub, located directly across the road from the 'spoons Crown Hotel. The small bar area at the front and larger room further back are both more modern in appearance than one might expect, but not in an incongruous way. Three real ales on handpump, being the 'house' Anchor Ale, Hop Shed's Equinox pale ale (£3.80) and Yachtsman's Ale from the much-more-distant Island Brewery

New kid on the block. Is very narrow and claustrophobic on entering when busy, which it certainly was on a Saturday night in late November but there's rooms upstairs which are quiet – stretching the definition of micropub. Three cask and my Ledbury Xmas beer was superb (NBSS 4.5). I’ll definitely visit again next time I’m in the city. Notes otherwise sparse as was pissed after a long day. It’s a mystery as to how Worcester can support so many good ale pubs - it’s a fine city to visit for a crawl. 8.5

This is the sister pub to the Cocky Anchor in Romsey. This micro is located in a Grade II listed building built in 1740. This was a former phone repair shop with the majority of the building being unused.
The layout consists of a front lounge and bar where the front windows open up onto the street. A rear lounge with a live feature wall (plants growing) and an electric retractable glass roof.
There was an upstairs front snug and some interesting loos. The landlord was very friendly and chatty and explained how the tonic water machine on the front bar worked, which saves them a lot of space using bottled tonics and soda waters.
Three handpumps Boland Brewery Boxer, Magpie Days Like These and Nene Valley T'other.

Beautiful building - take a moment to admire the three heads on the outside. Rumours that it was owned by an artist and at one point, was a synagogue.

Brave decision to open a micro pub directly opposite a JDW. But it seems to be doing OK.

Bay window that fully opens for an airy seat and you can watch/goad the JDW punters. An outside rear garden. Stairs were blocked off but the friendly landlord talked about them opening a terrace bar, which would be a unique feature for the town.

Beer-wise - a tad limited I thought. Some beers were their own brew from a Hampshire Sister pub. Unsure how you end up with the chain of two pubs so far apart. There was an IPA from magpie brewery that was in average condition. Smelt like it was slightly on the turn. It was a Tuesday.

Plans for brewery takeovers in the future.

Lots of competition for micros in Worcester. I wish them well.

Great little micropub housed in a Georgian 5 storey building. The staircase is not for the elderly or the faint hearted! Nice little beer garden out back.
Very friendly service. I enjoyed a good chat with the knowledgeable gaffer.
3 beers on - Welbeck Abbey Brewery Atlas, Hop Shed Pale and a house beer from Flack Manor. The beer was spot on.
A must visit when in Worcester.
