Blue Scrumpy left this review about Lauter Bottleshop + Brewspace
The Lauter Bottleshop + Brewspace is another small enterprise which looks like it opened some time during the Covid pandemic and managed to survive.
We'd initially passed by on Easter Monday and similar to the Moth & The Moon a little further down the street, it had been closed.
We returned for 4pm opening on the Thursday to find a list of 4 beers on a board, all served by KeyKeg.
I initially chose the Saint Mars of the Desert Rising Slowly, which seemed like my type of beer. The owner said that it had gone the previous evening. This seemed strange considering they had been closed, until he admitted that he'd finished it off whilst decorating!
This left a choice of a sour beer (Mr Sisyphus Cherry Stingo) also from Saint Mars of the Desert, Verdant Light Bulb or a third beer which was a lager.
There are 2 or 3 tables for drinking inside, with candles on each, but the focus appears to be mainly on the off sales trade.
The craft beer range is sold from a few fridges, with a small range of bottle real ales and some spirits on a shelf adjacent to the door.
This is one of several pubs and bars on Killigrew Street that are worth your time.
