I had to call this bar in advance to check they would be open. Google states that opening is at 3pm during the week. However, the owner confirmed that they do in fact open at midday.
This may well go some way to explaining why it was just myself and the young barmaid present on a Thursday lunchtime, until a female friend of the barmaid with her dog and then another elderly male customer arrived.
The bar is a single room allowing in plenty of light due to it having windows all along overlooking the road, along with a multitude of fairy lights hanging from the ceiling. There are plenty of pumpclips on the walls suggesting there have been many beers on in the past. Although to be truthful, I was hoping for a better cask ale range (I'm hard to please these days).
Handpulls on the bar stocked the regular ale Bass along with 4 guests - Titanic Plum Porter, Weetwood Cheshire Cat, Ossett White Rat & Timothy Taylor Boltmaker. I actually ordered a keg beer (Lervig House Party) from one of the taps on the bar back, but the barmaid found that this was currently off. In fact, a few of the other keg options were also unavailable. There was an advert for cocktails above the bar.
The room also had a TV in one corner and a lone guitar hanging from the wall above some dog biscuits. To the front of the bar, there are also a few outdoor picnic tables.
If the Lazy Landlord stays open, this pub along with the Wetherspoon's and the Scrap Yard (which I've yet to visit) around the corner, there are a few decent options in Liscard these days.

New pub in centre of Liscard. A longish narrow pub. 5 handpulls on the bar for real ale with 6 wall taps for fizz-u-likes. A very good choice of real ales and very friendly. A mix of low and high tables to sit at and though it can't compete with Wetherspoons round the corner price wise it is definitely worth a visit. A welcome addition to the area. I like it.
